We catch big numbers of fish on these trips and since Crappie are the best table fare in freshwater, this is a great way to fill the freezer. These are half day (5 hour) trips and are available for morning or afternoon. Rates: $400.00* for 1-2 people $100.00 each additional person Trophy Blue Catfish Trips I will be running Trophy Blue Catfish Trips at Navarro Mills and Bardwell from December thru March. These trips are great for catching large Trophy Blue Catfish! Its not uncommon to catch fish up to 40 lbs on these trips. These are full day (9 hour) trips and are available for morning or afternoon. Rates: $450.00* for 1-2 people $100.00 each additional person *initial fee per vessel needed for the trip

Major Guide Service is an owner operated fishing guide service, specializing in Hybrids/Stripers, Sand Bass (White Bass), Catfish, Crappie and Trophy Blue Catfish. My goal is to provide a safe, fun, family friendly fishing trip... and of course catch plenty of fish. I provide species specific and multi-species trips on Richland Chambers Reservoir, Navarro Mills Lake and Lake Bardwell. About the Lakes:
Richland Chambers Reservoir- This is the 3rd largest lake within the state and is the best White Bass fishery that Texas has to offer. On top of the great White Bass fishing, Richland Chambers also provides excellent chances for Hybrid Striped Bass, Crappie and Catfish. This beautiful lake is located an hour south of Dallas and an hour northeast of Waco, right off of Highway 287, 20 miles southeast of Corsicana.
Navarro Mills Lake- This lake is home to the state record White Crappie, which weighed in at a whopping 4.56 lbs! Obviously this lake is well known for its Crappie, but it also provides very good fishing for White Bass and Trophy Blue Catfish. Navarro Mills Lake is located 30 minutes Northeast of Waco and 1.5 hours south of Dallas, off of State Highway 31, 20 miles southwest of Corsicana.
Lake Bardwell- Bardwell is one of my favorite lakes to fish! This lake can provide some of the best Hybrid Striped Bass fishing around. I caught a limits of Hybrids on nearly every trip I took last summer. Besides Hybrids, Bardwell also provides good opportunities for Crappie, White Bass and Channel Catfish. Lake Bardwell is located about 40 minutes south of Dallas and 1.5 hours Northeast of Waco, 5 miles southwest of Ennis on State Highway 34.

Vessel and Gear:
All trips will be ran in my Hydra Sports Ocean 22 w/ 2018 Yamaha 200 Four Stroke. This vessel is made for offshore fishing and makes for a smooth and safe ride across large lakes like Richland-Chambers Reservoir, even on windy days. The vessel is equipped with a Motorguide Xi5 105 lb. thrust trolling motor, capable of anchoring over the fish and holding in high winds. The sonar on the vessel is a Lowrance HDS Carbon with Structure Scan, making it possible to scan an area nearly as wide as a football field so we can find the fish and get on them fast. Of course once you find the fish you will need the gear to get them in the boat. I carry Pflueger Supreme spinning reels on Ugly Stik Lites for lighter Sand Bass and Crappie fishing. For Hybrids and Trophy Blue Catfish you need something with a good strong and smooth drag so I carry Cabela's Salt Strikers and Abu Garcia Ambassador reels on Ugly Stik Catfish rods. To top it off I carry RSR Lures for most all of my Sand Bass and Hybrid fishing. RSR Lures makes a quality product and I have almost doubled the amount of fish caught on average since I started using these lures.

Hi, my name is Clay Major and I am the owner and one of the guides at Major Guide Service. I grew up on the rich farm land between Richland and Chambers Creek. I have been fishing Lake Bardwell, Navarro Mills Lake and Richland-Chambers Reservoir for years. I specialize in fishing for Crappie, Sand Bass (White Bass), Hybrid Striped Bass, Striped Bass, Channel Catfish and Blue Catfish.
